These are a solution to eliminate rear cylinder squeak when installing rear cylinders. For tight locations and standard up and down motion, you can use the flush version. For 3 wheel applications, I would recommend the recessed version. (The theory is the cup is closer to the bridge, which would reduce binding of the cylinder.
Preferred installation method is to use 5/16" 0r 3/8" Rivets to mount to sheetmetal of the trunk for ease of install and removal.
